A Few Words on Stowaways and Romance…..

So this week finds us traveling to the great state of Illinois!  We are in Morrison tonight and Normal tomorrow night.  As Scott Fowler would say “tomorrow night is as close to being Normal as our resident “freak of nature” bass singer Glenn Dustin will get!  So if you’re close come and join us.

We also have a stowaway on board this weekend.  Many of you know that I was privileged to sing with the Lefevre Quartet for 3 years before joining Legacy Five.  Just a short 3 months after I joined The Lefevres, we filmed a live video in Georgia and our special guests for the evening were Legacy Five.  The bass singer for the Lefevres was a gentleman by the name of Stacy Bragg.  He had been good friends with Roger and Scott for a number of years.  In fact Roger was instrumental in getting Stacy hooked up with Leroy Abernathy, and his encouragement was very instrumental in Stacy becoming a bass singer.

That night, after we finished singing, we got to sit back and enjoy and admire Legacy Five.  As I sat there in the back of that auditorium Stacy leaned over to me and asked what I thought.  I told him that I was blown away by the class with which they conducted themselves and I absolutely loved how they did what they do!  Stacy then said “How would you like to be a part of something like that?”  I smiled and answered that the only group I would leave The Lefevres for was Legacy Five, and we both laughed because we knew that would never happen.

Well friends, never say never!  Little did I know that earlier that evening as Legacy Five was watching us on stage, Frank told the guys that if he ever left he would want me to replace him!  Three years later I was privileged to be named the new tenor for Legacy Five, and this weekend our stow away is none other than Stacy Bragg!  Now before anyone gets worried, our beloved “Freak of Nature” Glenn Dustin isn’t going anywhere.  As we have discussed before, we in Legacy Five have put a freeze on changes within the group, so no one is allowed to leave!  It is, however great to have Stacy’s wit and humor on the bus this weekend and I am sure we are all going to be laughing a good bit more than normal! (there’s that word again)

I thought it would be interesting this week to ask each of the guys what they did special for their Valentine this past Tuesday.  What a range of responses I got!  Check it out.

Scott Fowler:  I took Taryn to a nice dinner at the Melting Pot and then out for the evening with just the two of us.

Scott Howard:  I ran a Fed-Ex route from 5am till 6pm then went home to have a nice dinner with Kelly and the kids.

Glenn Dustin:  I took Kristi to dinner at P.F. Changs and got her tickets to a concert.

Trey Ivey:  Kayla and I had a nice dinner at Cracker Barrel, (shock) and as a gift I had the windows tinted on her car.

Gus Gaches:  Tamra and I had dinner at one of our favorite spots, The Gerst Haus.  Then we went to the Preds game together.  I surprised her with upgraded seats, a card, and an App store gift card.

So as you can see, each of the guys, in their own way is doing what they can to keep romance alive!

Until next time…..

Stop picking on my good friend, Glenn. Anyway, normal is just a setting on a hair dryer.

Isn’t it awesome how God organizes everything in ways we never imagined? Glad everyone had a great Valentine’s Day with their families (No way! Trey went to Cracker Barrel?? Lol just kidding :) ).

Great concert at Morrison, IL tonight. “For What Earthly Reason” always bring tears to my eyes. Beautiful song; beautiful message. And I was hoping that you would sing “Ask Me,” and you didn’t disappoint me! BTW, we were at the Gaylord Celebration Weekend when Patty and Hannah “happened” to come to the event. Looking forward to seeing you next month in Branson. We will be bringing our 8-year-old grandson, Joshua, with us–his first Southern Gospel weekend. Got front-row seats. He is so excited!
